Though I’m not actively making (or taking or creating or whatever) fractal pictures as I used to do, I take the time to revisit this website at least once a year to keep the information that is —still— relevant up-to-date. Lately, that task has become manageable because the fractal hype of the early 2000 is over, fewer generators keep updating, and overall people’s activity has slow down significantly. Worth checking out are:
- Fractalware – a list of free fractal generators and related software for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android. Check each category to pick out which ones to try out or what still run in current hardware.
- Fractal.nfo – a guide to external resources, including software not listed in Fractalware because they are shareware, tutorials, galleries, blogs, among other things.
- Fractal Music – some rudimentary sample tunes, links to some serious composers, and additional information regarding this topic.
- Read – Some writings in which I try to explain basic concepts about fractals and art, on non-scientific or academic (maybe layman?) terms.
- Galleries – selected pictures captured with different tools between the years 1998 and 2006, plus additional findings, reinterpretations or second-time renderings from not too long ago.
The point is, even though the dates of the “latest picture” may suggest this website has been forgotten, that’s not entirely true. I’ll keep hanging around for as long as I deem it worth the trouble, and maybe, just maybe, adding more pictures if I find something interesting to share in the future.
In the meantime, thanks for the visit…
